2008 Fire on the Mountain Chili Cook-off

I accidentally deleted some pics. Most of the deleted pictures were of various chili booths. If you have any you think I could use, email me and I'll include them. Sorry 'grandma'...but I am enjoying the pepper butter!

Set up for the CAWV Booth

Activities

Chris prepares CAWV's entry.

Meanwhile, the kids compete
in the Hoot n' Holler Competition.

The crowd enjoys the festivities.

This child takes advantage of
the bungi jumping in the village.

Competitors consume some Haberneros
in the pepper eating contest.

After the brass section entertained the crowd...

...vocals and guitars lit up the
stage to entertain the crowd.

Contestants pull, stretch and beat their shirts
to thaw them out in the frozen t shirt contest.

The final stage competition of the
day was bobbing for peppers.

The Hastings Family from Morgantown,
WV won the Peoples Choice Award.

Dick Denmoore from Morgantown, WV
won the annual CAWV 50/50 raffle. Dick
split $1352.50 with Challenged Athletes.

For the second year in a row, Beverly
King won $10,000 and the right to represent
Snowshoe Mountain in the National Cook-Off.

I think everyone can consider the 2008 version of the Fire on the Mountain Chili Cook-Off a success. Thanks to our cook Chris Pollinchock, the volunteers, and the Book Fair, CAWV netted over $6,000 during the event. Also thanks to Ann and Pat for opening up their condo for the dinner after the cook-off.
